NASHVILLE, September 3, 2010 – Rocker Jack White and Americana torchbearer Lucinda Williams have been added to the list of presenters at the Thursday, September 9th Americana Music Honors and Awards Show presented by the Gibson Foundation. Also stepping up to the mic on the historic Ryman Auditorium stage that night are: 2010 Spirit of Americana Recipient Mary Chapin Carpenter, Grace Potter, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison (of The Courtyard Hounds & Dixie Chicks) and John Oates (of Hall & Oates).
2010 Lifetime Recipient for Songwriting John Mellencamp will kick off the show with a live performance. The roots music revelry wil continue on through the evening with emotionally charged performances by Emmylou Harris, The Avett Brothers, Rodney Crowell, Wanda Jackson, Rosanne Cash, Patty Griffin, Sam Bush, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ryan Bingham, Corb Lund, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Joe Pug, Sarah Jarosz and Will Kimbrough.
Each year, the honors and award show features a SURPRISE guest performer. 2010 is no different featuring a closing performance from a special artist that will blow your socks off.

The Honors & Awards are presented by the
Gibson Foundation. Jim Lauderdale will continue his tenure as master of ceremonies, joined for another year by Buddy Miller and his All-Star house band featuring Don Was, Aaron Embry, 2010 Lifetime Achievement Honoree Greg Liesz and Bryan Owings. Over 2,000 artists, music lovers and industry executives attend the annual show, which is broadcast internatiionally via Sirius/XM Radio, WSM, BBC2 and Voice of America.
Over the years, Americana Honors & Awards shows have featured historic moments including Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash’s last live performance together, as well as breath-taking sounds courtesy of Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, John Fogerty, Lyle Lovett, Solomon Burke, Old Crow Medicine Show, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Levon Helm, and many more.
The 2010 Honors and Awards Show is the capstone of the 11th annual Americana Music Festival & Conference, slated for September 8-11. The conference offers seminars, panels and networking opportunities at the
Downtown Nashville Sheraton Hotel by day, and raw, battery-recharging showcases each evening.
Full Festival and Conference registrants receive entrance to all sanctioned daytime conference music, panels and parties, plus priority access to all evening showcase performances. The registration also includes a ticket to the critically acclaimed Americana Honors & Awards show, presented by the Gibson Foundation, on Thursday, September 9 at the Ryman Auditorium.
