The Incongruous City

Mrs L sees and hears it on the streets of Manhattan

Friday, July 31

I was crossing a street in the East Village and I saw a man coming toward me with a cat. On a leash. On his head. The cat was sitting very happily on his owner’s head, and I stopped a moment to watch as they walked down the street. Usually weird animal moments happen on the streets without notice, but this guy and his Cat on the Head were getting a lot of attention from passers-by, and they both looked happy to receive it.

I would love to see something like that.
I could never imagine my cats allowing any of those things to happen:  leash.  collar.  outside.  on head.  walking.

Having owned both dogs and cats, I have to say that I really think cats are the smarter of the two…mostly because they can usually get us to do what they want us to do!
Sidebar…Please add more concert dates to your schedule for the new album!  Especially to the west coast.
Love your music!

My husband’s cat, Odysseus, would run down the street to meet him when he came home from school and ride on his shoulder all the way back up the street.

I can attest to the fact that cats will sit (and sleep) in the most unusual places. lol

I see that same guy on Broadway near Eisenberg’s all the time. He lives in the East Village and visits the staff at Eisenbergs. It is a black and white cat. Looks like the cat I had for 18 years until last October. I have talked to him and the cat on occasion.

It is always a shock and joy to see,
