The surgery, to correct a structural problem caused by a rare but benign condition, Chiari 1 Malformation, was successful and she is expected to make a full recovery. Ms. Cash will resume recording of her debut album for Manhattan Records in early 2008. She will also resume her live performance schedule in the spring and complete a new book to be published by Viking in early 2009. "When we asked Rosanne to design the Martin Signature Edition guitar that would bear her name, we at Martin expected she would base it on the 00-18 Martin she used to play on the road or perhaps one of the Martin Dreadnoughts she keeps at home. We were wrong. Ever the independent, Rosanne decided on an OM and the guitar she created – the OM-28M Rosanne Cash Signature Edition – is the guitar she always wanted."
